Newborn Photography Session, Leicester WhetstoneA few weeks back I had the pleasure of doing a newborn session with the gorgeous, 9 day old Violet-Ada. She is just super gorgeous and was really well behaved for us which made for a perfect session. We try to hold our newborn sessions before little one is 14 days old; this ensures we get the womb like poses. We make sure that mum and dad get a Client Guide before their session, this is crammed with information, which ensures your runs as smoothly as possible. She has the most perfect little features I have ever seen, and I will warn you, these photos have cuteness overload!! During her session we used greys and neutral colours and wanted to stick with a vintage style theme, however we did incorporate colour into one set up as it is nice to have that option there. I always like to ask what colours are around the home beforehand so that the images will fit in with the décor of the house and won’t look out of place, after all these images will be on your wall and in your families live forever. We used various props in the session, and even incorporated ‘’violets’’ into a few of our set ups, as mum requested this to reflect Violet’s name. It was so lovely to talk about where Violet’s name had come from. Mum and dad wanted names that were significant, and both names are from their grandparents; Violet and Ada. When speaking with mum, and sending her our sample gallery to look through she had chosen our tea cup image. I find it extra important to allow mum/dad to see a sample gallery prior to their session to ensure they chose props and poses that they like the most. After all its what mum and dad like best. We always do try to encourage parent shots as they will never be this small again, fitting so snug in your arms. They really do grow far too quickly. However, having a newborn is so tiring that posing for photos isn’t always on mum and dads list. For more information on our newborn sessions Newbornplease click here x

Bump to Baby SessionWhere do I start with Jaspers newborn session. Firstly, let me start by saying I got to captured him inside his mummy's tummy! Jasper’s mummy came to me to have a maternity session; it was slightly different than the average maternity session as his mummy is a dancer! So we just had to capture her last time in her ballet shoes before Jasper arrived, which he didn’t make his appearance in the world until almost 2 weeks after his due date!! Just to warm and snug inside his mummy. As a Leicester newborn photographer, I like to offer my clients a combined package to be able to capture both their pregnancy and their gorgeous newborn. Both times are so precious and go so quickly. It's a real honor to capture these moments for mums&dads alike to treasure for years to come. I always keep in contact with my clients to ensure I know when little one has arrived and to ensure we can get them in as soon as possible. In the maternity session we used our gorgeous tutus from the talented Samantha Astill of Lissi Lu Tutus and incorporated mum’s ballet shoes into the images to make for the perfect dancer’s theme. After all mum won’t get the chance to have those images captured like that again. On to the session its self, we managed to capture as much as possible but baby jasper had other ideas, the cheeky monkey. He has been the most alert forward baby we have ever had in the studio, and was a good weight of 9lb 9oz at his session. On saying that we still managed to get some perfect images and even using our brand new outfit; the bear romper!! Couldn’t you just give him a big cuddle with how much cuteness this image really is?!?!
Jasper is truly our very first studio bear!! There has been a lot of firsts for this session, which is truly an honor for us. Maternity & Newborn Photography Session Whetstone, LeicestershireSo I'll start by saying, I just love it when a mum books in for a ‘Bump To Baby’ package - a maternity session and a newborn session. By choosing this package you save £20 from the session fees due to booking in for both at the same time. Anyhow the main reason I love them is because you get to capture mum at the most beautiful time and you also get to meet the little bean that's been growing in their belly. This is what Lauren and Will did. They came along for their maternity session and we captured some lovely personal photos of them both. We then moved on to dark and seminude to really capture Lauren's beautiful bump. When Lauren messaged to say she had a baby called Aurora weighing 8lb exact. we just couldn't wait to meet her. Aurora was 9 days old at her session and was an absolute dream for us. It helped that mum & dad allowed us to use her dummy during the session as this can help just to settle baby after being moved. We provide new/sterilised dummies for our newborns that don't have one with them at mum & dad's discretion just to help with settling baby after being moved and positioned. For this session mum & dad wanted neutral colours but to tie in a bit of pink, and of course for a gorgeous little girl some headbands. Here's our most neutral set up which we also use on a digital background to create this image in the swing. As you can see it's the same pose and one image but we can create two set ups from it. During this session we also use our phone tripod to be able to record mini videos to show future clients what will happening during session, this gives clients the heads up so they know what to expect. We also feature these on our YouTube channel to show how we pose baby and how newborn safety is top priority for us and that there is always somebody with baby. Baby Aurora was so good for us we have got a fair few she will be featuring in. We take out Newborn Sessions bookings after your 20 week scan, and are currently booking sessions up to December 2017. We do, however; sometimes have last minute availability so please do 'get in touch' if your baby is due any day or if you have a baby under 2 weeks old.
Newborn Photography Leicester, Baby ArchieIs it a bird… Is it a plane… No! here comes Freddie the little Super Hero with his new partner in crime, baby Archie!! Oh gosh well where do I start with baby Archie’s session, I’ll ltake you back in time to our first ever session with Little Freddie!! Freddie came to visits me when he turned 1 for a cake smash session. We did the ‘Hungry Catipillar’ theme for this and he loved it. We also got to see Freddie for an outdoor mini shoot in his welly’s and yellow raincoat. Here’s just a few photos from both of his sessions. Anyhow onto baby Archie’s newborn session. His mummy got in contact to let us know that she was expecting baby number 2 and wanted some more information. We always speak to clients direct so we can disuss how we make their session bespoke, see what they would like to achieve and what colours schemes they like most. For Archie’s session it was a must for sibling’s shots so this is what we started with first. Booking early (after your 20-week scan) is always the best way as we can only take a certain amount of newborn sessions a month. This is due to timing of babies arriving and allowing ample time in case of early/late deliveries. Unknowing to Archie’s mummy she was purchased a gift voucher from all her friends for a newborn session, this covered the cost of the session and some towards products afterwards. This is always a nice gift that mum & dad will cherish their photos forever; after all you always end up with some many gifts that your little one will grow out of in a few months where your images will last a life time! Newborn safety is our top priority here at Bumps Baby Beyond therefore all these shots you see with siblings are composites. This is where we captured the siblings, Freddie in this case on his own next to an empty basket/bowl/bed with their favoutie teddy inside and then capture baby, Archie, on their own in the prop and then edit the imgages together. With Freddie being a huge fan of superman it was no question to add this into their gallery. Mum had brought a lovely superman hat for Archie and it tied in with the theme perfectly. Once the sibling’s images were done we moved onto family images which was another msut for mum. From years to come youll look at your strapping 18 year old son and think, just only the other day you fit snug in my arms… We used various props including our new wicker bowl. Mum/dad liked blues and naturals so this was what we used. We also added a few sentimental pieces into some of the shots that Archie had been bought by family members. Enough of me rambling on, I could go on and on about this session both Archie and Freddie were an absolute dream for us so please see some of our favourite images Please click here to find out more information about booking a newborn session. Leicestershire Newborn PhotographySo where can I start with baby Nicholas's session? Firstly, let me start by saying welcome to the world little man. Baby Nicholas arrived 10 days early, on the 21st of January 2017 weighing 7lb 8oz! Born with a full head of hair and gorgeous lashes, makes me so jealous. He attended his session on the 7th of February with his mummy and gran. Due to a last minute appointment that had come up on the day of our session we had very little time to get his photos taken, in fact we only had 45 minutes!! Yikes as a Leicestershire newborn photographer our usual sessions are between 2-3 hours long sometimes longer depending on baby. Due to his age and our calendar being full this was the only day we had before he became too old. We usually do newborn sessions when baby is 14 days and under due to still being able to recreate the position they are in inside the womb and then not having their startle reflex. 45 minutes really isn't long when you have to undress them, wrap them, settle them ect. Lucky for us baby Nicholas was a pro and was settled for us which enabled us to be able to get on as quickly as possible. We decided our best route was props! This was because he could be wrapped (as snug as a bug in a rug) and placed inside the props without disturbing his much. We started by using the grey fluff, with red trim around the bowl. The grey was chosen by mum due to her preferring natural colours. By doing the grey we also were able to create the imaged needed to put Nicholas into our digital background image which has beautiful feathers around the bowl. With Nicholas still fast off we popped him into one of our favorite props, the bed! We also used bonnets during his session. This enables to have two complete different looks by simply added a hat (as most would call it). We also had received a special tiny bunny in the post the day before which was perfectly sized to fit into his palm whilst all snug in the bed. Next we went onto his photos with his mummy. We kept him wrapped to ensure we wasn't disturbing him too much. Just look how his mummy looks at him, that's true love right there While he was still settled we quickly popped him onto the beanbag to ensure we got another set up so that we had managed to capture a variety of photos. Whilst he was here we took close up photos of his head, ears, eyes and nose. I find these extra important as these are the little details you tend not to look at often and grow so quickly that you forget how small they once were. Phewww! Well that brought the end of our session to an end. Nicholas and his mummy got to his appointment on time and we managed to get a variety of photos in the given time. It's true to say I had never done a session that quickly and still got that many images before, I may blow my own trumpet and say that was a session of success.
Anyhow enough of typing enjoy some of my favorite photos from his session. As a East Midlands, Leicestershire newborn photographer I have had the pleasure of meeting so many beautiful newborns, but I have never photographed anyone as tiny as Elijah. Whilst he was tucked away all warm and comfy inside, his mummy booked a maternity session with me. We had decided to wait until he was a bit bigger so that the bump was just the right size for the photos (32-36 weeks is the ideal time frame for a Maternity Session) but unfortunately Elijah had other plans and wanted to come early. Therefore, we changed for a Newborn Session. When the news that baby Elijah had arrived safe and sound it was amazing, however he did need to stay in hospital longer. When the day came of the session he was nearly 4 weeks old, usually newborn sessions take place up to 14 days old due to babies still sleeping a lot and being able to curl up like in the womb. Up to 14 days’ babies are still very much like they are in the womb, after 14 days they tend to be awake more and explore the world with all their senses. Anyhow onto Elijah’s session, his colour scheme was to stick with neutrals colours, browns, creams and greys. This fitted in perfectly with the décor of the home, we even incorporated a tiny bit of blue to tie in with one particular room. We start with the parent shots first due to his daddy needing to get to work. We strongly encourage family images, one day you will look back and treasure how small they are, how snug they once fitted into your arms! We did a variety of photos with mum & baby, dad & baby and then them all together. We even got a few cheeky shots of grandma, mum and baby too. Elijah’s grandma lives in Canada so it was lovely to be able to capture that moment for her so treasure forever with her living overseas. We then moved onto the props, I was super excited to get to use my new log basket, it is made of all nature wood and was perfect for our neutral colour scheme. We even managed to incorporate Elijah’s big brother, (their dog). We took a photo of Elijah in the basket himself and then one with the dog and next to an empty basket and then incorporate these together.
