13 Day Old - Baby Photographer Leicestershire, East MidlandsBaby Augustus came to visit us back in August at just 13 days old. He came to the studio with his mummy and nanny. Augustus’s nanny came all the way from Lithuania to come meet her new arrival and of course she got the chance to share the memories during his newborn session. For Augustus’s session we had already previous got in touch with his mummy to discuss colour schemes and which props she liked best. Due to them living in a barn conversion and everything in their home, décor wise, they wanted splashes of colour. Mummy then hand-picked everything when she was in the studio; we also teamed this up with some neutrals. We used our root bowl with our hessian and wool curls from Bumps Baby Beyond Props to reflect a rustic theme and also used this on our cream rug background. Little Augustus didn’t want to sleep for us, he was too busy spying on what we were doing! With this in mind, we wanted to use props which meant we didn’t have to disturb him too much and risk waking him again. Like with every newborn session I like to ensure I offer at least one colour set up, the main reason for this is to ensure that you get a variety to pick from rather than just all the same colours and contrasts. After all you will never get a chance to take these images again so having a different option is always good. Once we had finished with all the props we moved onto the beanbag and captured little Augustus in the potato sake pose on a completely blue background and then moved onto our usual poses on the beanbag. One in particular we do is our ‘’tushy up’’ pose. With this pose being done on our cream bobble beanbag fabric it means we can put these images into a digital backdrop. This is where the image itself is already there (without baby) and we Photoshop baby into the image. Just like this stalk one you see here. This also helps to give a variety of images that are very different to ones we take in the studio, also for families to treasure forever. To finish off we took a couple of images of Augustus and his mummy and also managed to get nan to have a quick photo with mum and Augustus too. Which will be very nice for his nanny to look back on in a few month’s time especially with the distance between them. It was such an honour to be a part of making those lasting memories.
