I recently had the opportunity to capture this sweet new baby boy, Chester. And oh my, what a little love he was. Coming into the studio at 9 days old, this little man couldn’t have done a better job on his first day as a little model. He was so sweet, sleepy, and happy for me – I did not hear a peep out of him in the 2 hours he was at the studio! What a little angel he was, and again thanks goes to his mummy and daddy for following my preparation instructions. As most of you may be wondering what preparation instructions I give, I’ll just take the opportunity to explain to you what they are. Prior to the session mum and dad receive a ‘’What To Expect Guide’’ in this it gives them instructions on how to prepare their newborn for the session, like trying to keep your baby awake for 2 hours prior to the session to ensure they will be very sleep during the shoot. This makes it easier to move them and position them into various poses without waking them. Also ensuring you feed baby just before you leave for the studio as a full tummy equals one happy, sleepy baby. Back to Chester’s session, we used blues, mint greens and neutral colours (all colours chosen by mum and dad). My favorite set up was just a plain backdrop with mint green as the colour for the props and wrap. Now I may add the props mummy and daddy brought in for this particular set up have big wide eyes, springy legs and make the noise ‘’ribbit ribbit’’ You’ve got it, FROGS!! Don’t worry not the alive type! Chester’s nana bought him two cute cuddly frog teddies with a matching frog hat that were just too adorable not to include!! Mum and dad also thought it would make a great photo and that nana could hand in her house and cherish it forever. We then couldn’t leave out a giant present brought form his grandad…a huge fluffy dog! When I first saw this all I could think about was falcor from the Never Ending Story…funnily enough that’s what both mum and dad had said too! We decided to lay little Chester on his back for this image and again, it’s one the grandparents can cherish for years to come! I know what you’re thinking, just adorable isn’t he!! And with that being said, I’ll leave you with some of my favorite photos from his session, try not to get to indulged into his cuteness!! For more information on our sessions please ‘click here’
