We had little Sebastian come to visit us recently, for his 1st Birthday! 

Every parent tells you how quickly the first year goes when your pregnant but you don’t actually believe them until it happens. My eldest is 5; 5 whole years where in the world has that gone?

It’s even more of a reason to capture those milestones. Whether that be when they are inside you, first born, just sitting up or turning one. Each and every stage has its rewards and its challenges but hey that’s what being a parent is all about. 

Sebastian came to see me with his mummy and daddy. Of course we had to capture a few family images prior to all the cake smashing. I love how Sebastian and his mummy have such love and happiness on their faces during this image I captured. Sometimes capturing the moment that isn’t as posed makes for such beautiful images.

​Daddy also wanted a Batman set up :D

For Sebastian’s cake smash his mummy chose blue and gold with hints of purple. They work so well and the hints of purple of his cakes really made the whole set up. Here’s an image before Sebastian got his hands on the cake. Mum and Dad got involved too :D

​He was full of curious looks and cheeky smiles during his session, these two images are my favourite to show how his reaction differed. 

After every cake smash session, we have the tub with lots of bubbles in for them to get clean. After all what would be worse, but to take a sticky baby home in their car seat and have to clean not only them but the car seat too. This just makes every session easier and of course makes for amazing photos when they splash and we capture the water flying everywhere!
