Bump To Baby Photo Shoot - Whetston Hello All I’ve had a lovely start to the summer this year with a maternity portrait session – with the sun shining and the birds singing we decided to take a stroll to the fields and old railway bridge just a short two-minute walk from my home studio in Whetstone, Leicester. We wanted to create a more ‘Fairy Tale’ type session and I’ve got a gorgeous full length tutu made by which gives any image a truly enchanted feel about it…just what mum was after! As the sun was beaming down we creating memories, ones that can be looked back on for years to come. We then headed back into the studio for some tasteful black & white images these are a completely different style and feel form the outdoors maternity session. We used natural half nude shoots to really capture the size of her bump against all her other features. With these I chose to edit some in black and white with very low lighting which made the photographs soft and calm. I believe it catches your attention to the real bond between mother and unborn child. After all the bond is unbeatable, you grow them inside you for 9 whole months (some of you for a shorter period, some longer) but right from the start. When you see those two pinks lines, to the very first moment you feel them move right up until they are in your arms and they take their first breath…they are yours to love forever! While being pregnant can be a trying and often at times an uncomfortable experience, there are moments when being pregnant feels so magical and thrilling that we never want it to end. One thing is for certain: there’s no other experience in life like it. You often hear people say ‘theres a glow about pregnancy’ and there right! This special moment captured on camera are something you can treasure forever, although nine months feel like a lifetime when your carrying you will soon look back and think where did the time go! It’s a privilege to be asked to capture pregnancy portraits and it is one of the most enjoyable parts of my work particularly as these are so often part of my maternity and newborn photography packages so I get to return to meet the new arrival shortly after! I realise that this is a very personal time in peoples lives and I feel lucky to be a part of that for a brief moment to create a lasting memory. So I'm happy to introduce baby Pyper and her big brother Charlie!
Mum had a variety of images she wanted to get form her newborn session, she wanted some creams and browns to go in the front room, some pinks and mints for babys room then some lovely family images for the rest of the house.
