Today I’m proudly showing off little Miss Elsie-Fay, isn’t she just the cutest! Look at tiny little button nose, ten tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes! Elsie-Fay came to me at just 5 days new and weighing only 6lbs 5oz I managed to put her into some of my shiny new props for smaller babies.
Elsie-Fay was a pleasure to photograph and I loved seeing her mum grin from ear to ear as we were changing positions and props. I will always have a pre-session consultation with my clients once the booking has taken place and in this we discuss props and colour schemes for the session. Elsie-Fays mummy loved all the sparkly and girlie props so we tried to incorporate this as much as possible. We also used a lovely fur bucket from Bee4Bee. When choosing props its important to make sure the baby fits comfortably and a general rule of thumb for this is to make sure the opening is as wide as your elbow to your wrist. I always use something to weight the bottom of the basket/bucket down to ensure the babies safety.
Elsie-Faye seemed to enjoy the props as she would always nod off when put in one so we managed to create lots of sleepy shots. When changing props she had a little feed from mum and went straight back down again in a milky dreamland sleep.
Elsie-Faye quickly decided that she loved all of my props so much she would show her appreciation by pooping on everything… Now this DOES happen in 90% of my sessions so I’m completely used to being covered in it myself, however, this time it was her poor mummy that got covered (sorry about that!). Everything I use is washed with fairy non-bio and disinfected as your little ones Health and Safety is my number one priority
