Marthas Baby Photoshoot - LeicesterMartha came to visit us a few weeks back along with her big brother Freddie and of course with mummy and daddy. When we have siblings to capture in images to we start with these first, and oh my little Freddie was a star. Usually its takes a while to get little ones warmed up to us; after all they are somewhere different, with people they dont know but this didn’t faze Freddie in the slightest. He had defiantly been practicing his smile for us. Regardless of how good siblings can be, we still capture the images as a composite for under 4/5 year olds. This is purely for safety reasons as younger ones can tend to be very excitable and are unpredictable. After all, it’s very exciting times welcoming their new baby brother/sister. With this being said we managed to capture one of little Freddie holding Martha in his hands, giving her a kiss however I had my assistant supporting Martha at all and I edited her out of the images. Once we had captured the images of Freddie to go with Martha we moved onto family images. Again, we usually do these last, however; when we have a sibling, we do these straight after their single images to ensure they don’t get fed up of waiting. We then ask a family member/friend to collect the sibling as newborn sessions don’t have a set time as we can’t predict how they will go. Once the most important images were captured, we moved onto our prop images in grey. We chose this because the décor of their house is grey and also so that we could use this image and edit it into one of our digital images we have previously taken. It’s a way we can get two images from one without disturbing baby too much. Martha wasn’t a massive fan of being undressed and placed on the beanbag therefore we wrapped her and captured the images that way. This helped just to settle Martha to enable us to capture a different type of image away from props. As I’ve previously mentioned we also capture images with any personal and sentimental item. Whether this be a teddy, a hat or even a bible. We’ve done it all. For this session the item was a hat. Which Freddie had worn for his newborn session, so for mum and dad it was important to capture this too with Martha so they had the image of them both wearing it.
