Welcome back, my oh-so-wonderful blog readers!

Today I'd like you to meet some very special people: baby Carter and his older sister. Our session was triumphantly successful and I fell head over heels for this little man and the shots I was able to capture!

Little Carter arrived 6 weeks early into this world and was an amazing 5lb, Sian (his mother) had done a fantastic job looking after him whilst they were in hospital and Nan was on hand to help with his big sister. The love this family have was overwhelming and showed in the photos. His big sister is so happy to have a younger brother, and she made that apparent at our shoot! One thing's for certain – baby Carter will always have someone looking out for him!

As you can see from the pictures below, these little ones were so good during the session, and already share such a connection. I can’t wait to see how they interact as they get older!

As this little man was early we did his session when he was 4 weeks old which would have made Sian 40 weeks pregnant if Carter had stayed put. Normally 4 weeks is too late for a newborn session but when little bundles decide they can’t wait any longer to meet their mummy’s and arrive early newborn sessions can take place up-to 14 days after their due date. Thus meaning your little one may be slightly older but as long as we go by your expected date we can still get those adorable curled up poses and cute fetal like positions.

When babies are so small I carefully select props that would suit their size and weight, we placed Carter in some lovely items to both make him feel safe and secure yet show the world how small this little man really is. My son was also born premature and was 5.3 and although I was used to handling little babies I always seem to forget how tiny they actually are!! His little toes and hands were minute and always something to treasure and share with him once he’s grown in-to a big strapping young man!
