After waiting for baby Joshi to make her appearance into the world she arrived on the 16th of August 2016 weighing a tiny 4lb 11.5oz and oh my she is just so scrummy!! She came into the studio at 10 days’ old accompanied by mum, dad and her two new teddy friends. During her session we didn't get many shots of her unwrapped, as baby Joshi just loved to be all snug and wrapped up...and after all who can blame her! As I'm sat here writing this I’ve got my blanket snuggled over me with a hot cupa (slightly going cold now) on the desk! However, we got some beautiful shots of her. In this session we used pinks, purples and neutral colours. Here is one of my favorite photos from the purple, basket set up. I can hear you saying it, hasn't she got so much hair?? She had the most hair on a baby I had seen in a long time, her mummy brought her hair brush especially for the session so we could make sure her hair was just perfect! When asking mum and dad what style of photos they would like they asked for close ups of her tiny features! After all these tiny ten toes, and small finger tips, cute little button nose and small squishy ears aren't going to be this small for long. Babies features change day by day, one of the main reason to capture every detail possible. Why use a professional photographer you may ask? Well let me tell you, newborns grow at a tremendous rate! The newborn portraits that you see on my website are usually taken within the first 6-14 days after birth while they sleep deeply and are flexible to get into those curled up poses. The “fresh newborn” look of a baby does not last very long and let's face it after you've just had your baby the last thing on your mind is to be bending up and down moving baby around trying to get your own photos this is where we come in. We completely take the reins and allow you to just sit back and cherish seeing your baby so peaceful and tranquil. Not only that but this also is the first opportunity for you to capture that first ever family portrait. Any how back to baby Joshi's shoot, we moved onto parent shots once all the photos of baby Joshi were done. During this mum and dad had sent over various ideas that they would like, we had so much fun shooting these and got some precious moments captured with baby, mum and dad. Some people ask for recommendations when i do not cover their area, and I highly recommend a dear friend of mine who is a Newborn & Child photographer near Albrighton, Wolverhampton. Her business is called Laura May Photography and can be found by 'Clicking Here' For more information please 'Click Here' xx

I recently had the opportunity to capture this sweet new baby boy, Chester. And oh my, what a little love he was. Coming into the studio at 9 days old, this little man couldn’t have done a better job on his first day as a little model. He was so sweet, sleepy, and happy for me – I did not hear a peep out of him in the 2 hours he was at the studio! What a little angel he was, and again thanks goes to his mummy and daddy for following my preparation instructions. As most of you may be wondering what preparation instructions I give, I’ll just take the opportunity to explain to you what they are. Prior to the session mum and dad receive a ‘’What To Expect Guide’’ in this it gives them instructions on how to prepare their newborn for the session, like trying to keep your baby awake for 2 hours prior to the session to ensure they will be very sleep during the shoot. This makes it easier to move them and position them into various poses without waking them. Also ensuring you feed baby just before you leave for the studio as a full tummy equals one happy, sleepy baby. Back to Chester’s session, we used blues, mint greens and neutral colours (all colours chosen by mum and dad). My favorite set up was just a plain backdrop with mint green as the colour for the props and wrap. Now I may add the props mummy and daddy brought in for this particular set up have big wide eyes, springy legs and make the noise ‘’ribbit ribbit’’ You’ve got it, FROGS!! Don’t worry not the alive type! Chester’s nana bought him two cute cuddly frog teddies with a matching frog hat that were just too adorable not to include!! Mum and dad also thought it would make a great photo and that nana could hand in her house and cherish it forever. We then couldn’t leave out a giant present brought form his grandad…a huge fluffy dog! When I first saw this all I could think about was falcor from the Never Ending Story…funnily enough that’s what both mum and dad had said too! We decided to lay little Chester on his back for this image and again, it’s one the grandparents can cherish for years to come! I know what you’re thinking, just adorable isn’t he!! And with that being said, I’ll leave you with some of my favorite photos from his session, try not to get to indulged into his cuteness!! For more information on our sessions please ‘click here’

The adorable little guy in front of the lens is the son of Simon and Van, meet beautiful William 8lbs 13oz of squish gorgeousness! This little man was a dream to work with, his mummy and daddy travelled just over an hour to attend their session and I am so please with all the images we managed to capture.. He slept for most of the session and only woke for a little feed. It really does make all the difference when parents follow the preparation guide we send them. As William was nice and sleepy we started with him on his back and got a close up of those tiny toes. Once we wrapped him we did the potato sack. He was all snug we placed him into a basket and added some wraps to create different looks, this way we don’t have to disturb them to create variety. Mum and dad wanted to get some images to use on Christmas Cards and of course William rocked it! We then couldn’t resist trying him on the beanbag again with a lovely mustard backdrop and blue wrap. He had some adorable back wrinkles. Williams grandma travelled all the way from Vietnam to come and meet him so this photo is one that I’m sure will be held dearly! A parent’s love is so strong, a bond that is just unbreakable and one that knows no bounds and I love to capture the purity in those moments where their bundle is safely in their arms. I also love to get images of both mum with baby and dad with baby on their own they will never again be this small and it really is amazing how quick they grow. I cant wait to see little William grow! 'You did a briliiant job. You are great with our baby and took beautiful shot of my son. I hanged those pictures on the wall so I can look at them everyday. It was such a lovely memory. Looking forward to seeing you again very soon' To book your newborn session please visit the Contact Us page and either leave me a message or phone us on 07875378737. handsome khyath - 9 days newThis little chappy came to see me at 9 days new, his mummy was kind enough to buy his two aunties a Gift Voucher for a newborn photography session too as they were all expecting within months of each other! Please read my earlier post to see how his little cousin got on in his session. Anyway, back to the star of the show, Khyath… Now, on this occasion we decided to start with family photos first which isn’t something I normally do but mum had an Emergency C-Section and I understand that it is extremely painful and by time we get the end of my session ready for the family ones it can sometimes be a little much. This worked really well for his session and we managed to capture some beautiful family shots. His mummy was simply gorgeous and listened to all of our posing instructions despite A deciding to poo everything the moment he got placed into his mummy’s arms (now this I wish I did capture on camera as it was a full on explosion!) but mum stayed calm and once cleaned up carried on. As little Khyath didn’t like to be undressed we decided to keep him cosy and snuggled up in some of my wraps from Sally Slack, both mum and dad had family teddies they wanted to incorporate into their sons session and this was extremely important to them. We placed them next to Khyath so they could sit and watch over him as time goes on, it will be lovely to see him and teddies return for his sitters session and see the size difference. Mum and dad also asked for a photo including all of his birth details so they came up with this idea, I hope they like it!
BEAUTIFUL INDI - 8 DAYS NEWAw my heart just melts for this little beauty! Meet Indi who came to us for her newborn session at 8 days new and she was honestly a little dream to photograph. I was able to get through a variety of props, family pose’s and some dreamy beanbag ones :) We started with the beanbag and as Indi was in a deep sleep and a natural curly baby I decided to start with the froggy pose. This pose is done as a composite and is only safe to do so if your newborn photographer has had extensive training in this field (please follow this link to see the training I have obtained). Whilst Indi was in this position her head was being held by my assistant, I then proceeded to take some photos and came back to support her. My assistant then held her arms whilst again I stepped back to capture some more photos so she was being held at all times. After these two are taken they are then put together in Photoshop to give the appearance that no one is holding her. This pose to many s like marmite, parents ether LOVE it or don’t, it’s a personal favorite of mine as all 10 toes, their tiny little fingers and their cute little faces are in frame but I always make sure parents would like this before I assess if baby will easily go into this position. From there I put Indi into the side lying pose and shortly after this she decided she wanted to keep a watchful eye on me so I decided to wrap her hehe. No baby can resist the potato sack pose, as soon as they are wrapped they drift off into a deep sleep and it is from this point on that Indi didn’t wake again until we undressed her for her family session! Whilst she was sound asleep I transferred her into a few different prop setups to ensure we got variety in her gallery, something I’m always aiming to get. With the help of Indi’s beautiful parents we managed to capture some stunning family photos, this being my favorite!
AARYAN - 28 days newPlease meet little Aaryan I'm just going to jump right in, let's get straight to the good stuff! I recently had an awesome session with Kam, her husband and their adorable newborn, Master Aaryan. Now little Aaryan decided he couldn’t wait to see his mummy and daddy and decided to come early, he came to see me at 28 days old and 5lbs. Normally my newborn sessions take place before they are 14 days, however, as this little man decided to come early I prefer to photograph them around their original due date or when they hit the 5lbs mark. My son was born at 5lb 3oz so I know how to handle the smaller babies, and Aaryan was just the cutest! I had a new prop I have wanted to try out. And, it goes without saying, I was really excited to have such a sweet boy to try the prop out with. Getting in the winter sprit I wanted to try something slightly darker with an autumn feel. Aaryan was radiating cuteness before, but the basket prop from Newborn Baby Posing really made him stand out. Once he was curled up in there we took some close ups of his long lashes (something the girls will love when he’s older!). Aaryan loved being wrapped up so we decided to do the potato sack pose, this is done as a composite and my assistant is holding him at all times! I created a short video on how this was achieved as Newborn Safety is my number 1 priority.
